The Guidance and Counseling Department is an integral part of Notre Dame High School. The Counselors emphasize the development of a healthy self-concept, provide learning assistance, and help clarify goals and values. The commitment to our students is best seen by the excellent college placement records achieved each year.

Each of our students is assigned a school counselor who will work with him throughout his high school years. Class presentations, individual and group sessions, and special workshops that deal with adolescent issues are the basis of our program.

Parents also have the opportunity to meet with counselors regularly throughout the year. Course registration, consultation on behavioral issues, college selection and questions concerning financial aid and scholarships become part of the counselors' daily routine.

We have three full time counselors, a school social worker, and a special education specialist at Notre Dame. Our team of professionals assists students, parents, faculty, and administration in identifying and solving academic and personal issues. The counselors also help to develop college and/or career plans. The counselors are involved with their students and know them well.
