 | Tuition alone does not cover – and never has -- the entire cost of educating a student at Notre Dame. Initially, the founding Brothers of Holy Cross donated their salaries (minus modest living expenses) back to the school to make up the difference. Since then, loyal alumni, parents, friends, and corporations have stepped forward to ensure that this legacy of generosity continues. In this way, the benefits of a Holy Cross education will continue to produce educated young men of character, promise, and purpose.
Gifts to the Annual Fund help offset the cost of tuition, which for 2011-2012 is $10,800 and, at the same time, make so much more possible. We are eager to fuel the growth of this fund, through alumni and others who recognize the value of “paying gratitude forward” and who commit to making Notre Dame an annual part of their charitable giving. Donors are listed in the President's Report published by the school annually.

| The value of your gift can increase if you or your spouse works for a company that supports a matching gift program. Simply obtain the proper form from your employer and email or mail it to the school along with your gift to Notre Dame. |
A number of individuals and organizations provide funds annually for scholarships, which are received and given out in the same year. These annual scholarships are not part of the Notre Dame Loyalty and Endowment Fund.
