A Tradition Second to None! We are ND!
Young men often come to know themselves in the crucible of competition, where character development includes teamwork, practice, healthy competition, confidence, disappointment, sportsmanship, and right conduct. These attributes, shaped early, remain “in play” for a lifetime.
Notre Dame High School takes great pride in its sports program, which is rich in tradition and known for success. More than half the student body competes in sports that include cross country, football, and soccer in the fall; basketball, hockey, indoor track, swimming, and wrestling in the winter; and baseball, golf, outdoor track, lacrosse, and tennis in the spring. The Notre Dame Green Knights participate in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC)
and competes in the Southern Connecticut Conference
, one of the most competitive leagues in the state.
We are proud of our athletic tradition here at Notre Dame. Our success can be seen on the walls of Alumni Hall where banners hang, each with its own story of our storied sports history. From our state championship teams’ success (36 and counting…), to our All-State student-athletes (well over 400), to our even more numerous student-athletes who have gone on to play in college, to every student-athlete who has worn a Notre Dame uniform with pride, we value the role sports plays within our school community, while at the same time, realizing that our faith-based education, moral self-discipline, and respect for others are all equal parts of the Notre Dame experience.
We are also hopeful and confident that future student-athletes who wear the Notre Dame uniform will make their own mark and continue the rich tradition of Notre Dame athletics. In addition, please visit Notre Dame's online home at GoGreenKnights.com where you can watch over 50 games a year live or on replay.
