  • Senior Parent Prom and Graduation Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Collins Auditorium.
  • Graduation Information Packet will be distributed.
APRIL 7
  • Junior/ Senior Prom-Aqua Turf 7:00 -11:00 p.m.
APRIL 17
  • Graduation Speaker meeting - room 106 at 2:35 p.m. - optional.
APRIL 19
  • Graduation Speaker “tryouts”- room 106 at 2:35 p.m.
APRIL 21
  • Graduation Dinner/Liturgy RSVP due.
  • Menu included with April 3 meeting packet.
  • Fill out RSVP form below.
May 22
  • Deadline for extra ticket requests.
MAY 26
  • Graduation Rehearsal (graduates only) 9:30 a.m.  - ND Gym.
  • Graduation caps /gowns, NHS stoles, and 5 graduation tickets.
MAY 27
  • Graduation Liturgy 6:00 p.m. St. Rita Church.  Graduates and parents should arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. Graduates and parents line up at side entrances. Procession starts at 5:45.
  • Graduation Dinner 7:30 p.m. Omni New Haven Hotel (for graduates and parents only).

MAY 28
  • Graduation 10:00 a.m. Notre Dame High School Alumni Hall (Gymnasium). Graduates and Sponsors must plan to arrive no later than 9:00 a.m.

  • Graduation Weekend-when, where, who, and what to wear

    The Graduation Rehearsal
    • Friday, May 26, 2017.
    • Notre Dame High School Alumni Hall (Gymnasium).
    • Graduates must arrive no later than 9:30 AM.
    • Graduates will receive caps, gowns, NHS Stoles, 5 graduation tickets.
    • Sponsors do NOT attend rehearsal.
    • Be sure to have asked someone to be your sponsor by this time.

    The Graduation Liturgy
    • Saturday, May 27, 2017.
    • St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
    • Graduates and parents must arrive no later than 5:30 PM.
    • Graduates and parents will process together from the two side entrances.  All other family members should sit to the far rear of the church; Notre Dame faculty will be there to direct you.
    • In case of rain, proceed directly into the church.
    • Attire: Graduation gown (no cap), National Honor Society stole and award pins, ribbons etc.shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes.  Please, no gum, no cell phones.
    • Parking is available in the church lot and the school lot.

    The Graduation Dinner - for Graduate and Parents only
    • Saturday, May 27, 2017.
    • Omni New Haven Hotel, 155 Temple Street, New Haven immediately followingthe Graduation Liturgy.  Seating will begin promptly at 7:30 PM.
    • A ticket with graduate’s name, table #, and 3 dinner cards will be at a reception table upon arrival.
    • Attire: jacket/blazer, shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes.
    • Parking is suggested at the Omni Hotel and Temple Street garages.

    The Graduation Ceremony
    • Sunday, May 28, 2017.
    • Notre Dame High School Alumni Hall (Gymnasium).
    • Graduates and Sponsors must arrive no later than 9:00 AM.
    • Graduates will report directly to their assigned classrooms.
    • Sponsors will find their seats in the gym.  Tags with the names of the graduates will be placed on the chairs.  Faculty will assist you.
    • Attire: Graduation cap, gown, shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes, National Honor Society stoles and pins. Please, no gum, no piercings, no cell phones, no inappropriate hairstyles.
    • Do not write on or alter the cap and gown in any way.

    Graduation Parking
    • All parking for the graduation ceremony will be at the University of New Haven. Shuttle buses will be available
  • Graduation Liturgy

    Saturday, May 27, 2017.  
    St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.

    Attire
    Graduation gown (no cap), National Honor Society stole and award pins, ribbons etc., shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes.  Please no gum, shut off cell phones.

    Parking
    Parking is available in the church lot and along the side streets.  There is also ample parking at St. Rita School, which is across the street from the church.

    Procession
    Please arrive at St. Rita no later than 5:30 P.M.  The procession of graduates and parents will begin shortly after 5:30.  Gather with your parents on the side entrances of St. Rita Church. Parents process on either side of the graduate into the church.  Seating will be directed by Notre Dame faculty.

    Other Guests
    All other guests of the graduate may go directly into the church upon arrival and be seated in seats not assigned to the Class of 2017 and their parents.  Seating is extremely limited and guests may be limited to standing room only. All seating will be directed by Notre Dame faculty.

    In Case of Rain
    If it is raining, all will proceed directly into the church.  Graduates and parents will be seated in reserved pews.  All other guests of the graduate may be seated in pews not assigned to the Class of 2017 and their parents. Seating will be directed by Notre Dame faculty.
  • Graduation Tickets

    All graduates will receive five (5) tickets.
    The graduate himself does not need a ticket.
    One ticket must be used by the graduate’s Sponsor.
    That leaves four (4) remaining tickets for distribution.  

    All requests for extra tickets must be submitted to Mr. Adam Laput, Assistant Principal of Student Life, at alaput@notredamehs.com by Monday, May 22.

    The graduation ceremony will be webcast live on www.gogreenknights.com.

    Graduation Sponsor
    Each graduate must select a Sponsor, usually a parent, grandparent or person of significance to sit beside him during the graduation ceremony. When the graduate walks across the stage to receive his diploma, the Sponsor will meet him at the other side to turn his tassel.  

    Seating
    Seating for graduation is available on the bleachers and chairs on the floor at the rear of the gym.

    Wheelchairs
    There will be a reserved section for guests in wheelchairs.  Please contact Mrs. Shumaker, jshumaker@notredamehs.com to reserve a place in this section.

    The Graduation Dinner is intended for the graduate and his parents only. There is no cost to attend the dinner. This was covered by the graduation fee.

    Jacket/blazer, shirt, tie, pants, socks, shoes.
