COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program – Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased  to continue with their scholarship program for the 12th year, awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the website scholarship page. For detailed information about the application process, please visit www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. The scholarship deadline is June 14, 2019.

American Italian Women of Greater New Haven ScholarshipThe American Italian Women of Greater New Haven is a volunteer organization whose primary purpose is raising funds for scholarships and charities. It is offering high school seniors, attending a four-year college, scholarships of $750. New Haven area students of Italian descent (maternal and/or paternal lineage) are eligible for this scholarship. Information and application forms are available in the Counseling office. The scholarship deadline is June 1, 2019. Due to your Counselor for processing by May 17, 2019.

B. Davis Scholarship – The creators of the “Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2019.  The amount of Scholarship:  $1,000.  Our website was developed for the purpose of helping students locate and apply for scholarships. For more information, please visit our website at www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm. The deadline for applications if May 24, 2019.

CHESLA Scholarships – Connecticut Higher Education Supplemental Loan Authority 2019 – 2020 Academic Year Scholarship Student must be a resident of Connecticut, an undergraduate student for the 2019-2020 academic year, and be enrolled and attending an eligible Connecticut state or non-profit, degree granting institution of higher education. For more criteria information and application, visit www.CHESLA.org.

Application and all required documents must be postmarked no later than May 10, 2019. Due to your Counselor for processing by April 26, 2019.  Applications are also available in the Counseling Office.

Devon Rotary 2019 Scholarships – Any Student who lives in Milford is eligible for the following Rotary Scholarships. All are based on service, academics and need with special preferences/considerations noted:   

• Robert Boughton Memorial Scholarship: $1,500 Scholarship, with special preference for student pursuing career related to hospitality management or culinary.

• John D. Gaynor Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 Scholarship for student pursuing degree in Business, with additional consideration to those interested in Entrepreneurship.

• Barbara Burwell Gaynor Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 Scholarship for student pursuing degree in Education, with the hopes of becoming a teacher.

• Steven G. Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 a year Scholarship renewable for four years for student studying marine biology, aquatic sciences, related major, or for student who has shown concern for the environment and interest in marine life.

• Joyce G. Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 a year Scholarship renewable for four years for student pursuing research or health-related career, with special consideration for those interested in pursuing Cancer Research or Oncology.

• James J. Maroney Sr. and John D. Malarkey Sr. Memorial Scholarship: A one-time $2,000 Scholarship for student pursuing a degree in Education.

• Antelope Web Digital Multi Media and Marketing Scholarship: A one-time $500 Scholarship designated for a student studying digital marketing, multi-media, or ecommerce.

• Milford Arts Council Endowment Art Student Scholarship: A one-time $1,000 Scholarship for student pursuing a degree in the Arts.

• Milford Arts Council Endowment Art Student Scholarship (#2): A one-time $1,000 Scholarship for student pursuing a degree in the Arts.

• Daniel and Roma Moger Memorial Scholarship: A one-time $1,000 Scholarship designated for student intends to major in History, either as a major, part of a teaching program, or as a pre-law student.

Application deadline for all Scholarships is May 2nd, 2019.  Due to your Counselor for processing by April 23, 2019. More information and applications are available in the Counseling Office.

New Scholarship Program (Discover): We’re excited to announce the launch of the 2018 Scholarship Program. This year entrants have a chance to win $10,000 to help pay for college. High school seniors, current college students and parents are eligible to enter. North Haven Lions Community Service Scholarship 2018/19 Academic Year – Any Senior graduating from a public, private or parochial school who is a current North Haven resident.

Immediate family of North Haven Lions members are not eligible. Since the Lions Club is a community service organization, they are particularly interested in applicants who have a demonstrated commitment to active leadership in providing community service.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office. Deadline for submission is May 15, 2019. Due to your Counselor for processing by May 1, 2019.

Orthopaedic Specialty Group Education Foundation ScholarshipThe Group is offering six $2,500 scholarships to anyone who is a resident of New Haven or Fairfield County pursuing post-secondary training (four-year or advanced degree) in a musculoskeletal care related field. The awards will be applied directly toward tuition and educational expenses. For criteria and application, visit www.osgpc.co/education-foundation/. The Connecticut Parks Association Dennis Malone Scholarship – The scholarship award program was named in honor of Dennis Malone, past President of the Association and founder of the scholarship program. The scholarship awards are open to applicants who are high school graduating seniors planning to attend an accredited two or four-year college and pursue a career in park management, forestry, horticulture, agronomy, or a closely related field. Scholarships may be awarded up to $1000.  For more information and application, visit www.ctparks.org. Look under “General Info/Dept. Info” and return to Gerard G. The Kline Family Community Service Scholarship – Honors Ernest, Kenneth and Nancy Kline, three family members affiliated with the University of Connecticut and its Alpha Phi Omega Chapter. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from an accredited Connecticut high school who has been accepted and will attend the University of Connecticut. And the student must have a demonstrated record of community service. For more information and application, visit www.klinefamilyscholarship.org. Applications are due by April 20, 2019. The Lucy Scillia Scholarship – A $1,000 award sponsored by the Friends of the Case Memorial Library. It is available to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Orange and continuing their education at an accredited institution of higher education. Applications should be received by mail or dropped off in person at Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, Orange, CT 06477. The application deadline is April 30th, 2019. The Lucy Rathbone Elliot Memorial Scholarship – The Arbor Club of Clinton is offering this scholarship of $1000.00, to a graduating senior that is a resident of Clinton. All applicants must be planning to attend a two to four-year college degree program and pursuing a degree in a field of Environmental Science. Application forms are available in the Counseling office.  Applications are due by May 20, 2019. Due to your Counselor for processing by May 6, 2019.

The Milford Columbus Committee Inc. Memorial Scholarships for 2019Three scholarships up to $2,500 will be awarded by the Milford Columbus Committee for this year’s graduating class. Each recipient must be a Milford resident attending public or private school, must be of Italian descent (one or both parents being Italian), and be a graduating senior who is planning to pursue further education upon graduation. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.  Applications must be received by May 3, 2019. Due to your Counselor for processing by May 12, 2019, and your Counselor is required to submit all entries.

The New Haven Mineral Club Scholarship – The New Haven Mineral Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship in the Greater New Haven area. The Scholarship is designed to assist a student pursuing an academic study in Science, (Geology, Mining, Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy, Material Science, Engineering, and other related Science fields. To receive an application, send a written request to: New Haven Mineral Club, Frank Karsmarski, 69 Woodvale Drive, Northford, CT 06472. Applications must be received by April 20, 2019. The Shore Haven Jr. Baseball Scholarship – The Shore Haven Jr. Baseball will be offering three $250.00 scholarships plus the Joseph Morrell Sr. Scholarship to 2019 high school graduates who plan to further his/her education this fall. The students must have participated in the League for at least two years.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office, and are due by May 15, 2019.  Due to your Counselor for processing by May 1, 2019.

The Sisters’ Project 2019 Scholarship for Wallingford Residents – The Sisters’ Project is an organization committed to raising funds in support of cancer patients and their families. The scholarship will provide $2,000.00 for a graduating senior who is a Wallingford resident; each student must be a cancer survivor or have an immediate family member who has been afflicted by cancer (mother, father, sibling, legal guardian). For more information and application, visit www.thesistersproject.org. Applications are also available in the Counseling Office. Applications must be received by May 1, 2019.
