Students will start by reviewing basic operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals in context with ratios, proportions, and percents. Following this, students will explore basic algebra including variables, expressions, and equations. The course will conclude with the study of relations and functions, linear equations and inequalities, and basic polynomials.

Algebra 1 Advanced (Session 2)

This course is best suited for students who are looking for a deeper look into the concepts previously studied in Algebra 1. Students will start with a basic review of equations, inequalities, functions, and polynomials. Students will use this knowledge for real-world problem solving applications such as linear programming and modeling quadratics.

This course is offered during Session 2 and will meet Monday-Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am (8 total class meetings).

English Course offered:

Writing to Explore (Sessions 1&2)

Take back some of the lost time and get ready for the next school year, whatever form it may take! Writing to Explore will focus on enriching basic writing and organizational skills while participants find a topic in the world they want to explore closely. Reading for research, outlining, and writing for purpose skills will all be reviewed and enriched to build on the foundational skills of clear, organized writing.

Students will engage in a miniature research project - ideally about a topic from current events or something they are passionate about - that will focus on research style writing. Since it will be done virtually, not only will writing skills be developed, but also the unique experience of learning online, which the pandemic has shown us is not the same as learning in the classroom.

This course is offered during Session 1 and Session 2 and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30 pm (4 total class meetings per session).

*Due to the writing process, the instructor will set meetings with students outside of the scheduled hour.*
