Student Life at ND
Notre Dame in West Haven is much more than a campus: it’s the home base of a community rich in tradition and ripe with innovation -- one that, once you join in, you’re part of for a lifetime.
Here, students of diverse backgrounds come together to become young men of character, compassion and confidence by making the ND experience their own.
From club meetings, spiritual retreats and community service, to dances, dining and parent participation, ND campus life truly embodies our mission to educate minds and hearts.
“When I describe the ND community, I use the word inclusive. It’s impressive how our student backgrounds are so diverse, and yet they treat each other as brothers.” Liz Snape, Faculty & Chair, Science Department
Every parent and guardian is a member of the ND Parents Association, a great place to network together, provide support for the school and have fun.
The annual spring parent event, ND Knight Out, features student entertainment, good food, great music and fun games -- all in support of our wonderful school community.
Shopping incentives and additional fundraising events provide easy opportunities to get involved.
- The school uniform and appearance code is but one equalizer on a campus where character development includes knowing a person for who he is rather than what he has.
- ND food and dining services provide healthy meal options for our community.
- The Student-Family Handbook gives all ND families the information they need as they join the ND community.
- Our Internet Safety Policy ensures students take part in appropriate usage of the online computer network and access to the Internet.
