Support for Notre Dame Students & Faculty

How You Can Help the ND Community
It comes as no surprise that alumni, parents, and friends have asked how they can support the Notre Dame Community during these uncertain times. Here at Notre Dame, we could use your support today in one of three important areas.

Financial Aid
Gifts to support financial aid will be extremely beneficial to our students and families hit hardest by job loss and the effects of the global pandemic. We anticipate our need for financial aid will be greater than ever in the coming year.

Mission & Campus Ministry
The Holy Cross Mission is the cornerstone of a Notre Dame education. Our students have been sharing virtual daily prayers, their ND Mission Moments, and their selfless acts of kindness for others. Gifts to support our mission and campus ministry allows us to expand programs like these.

Academics & Professional Development
Professional Development opportunities for faculty were a major part of ND’s latest strategic plan, Educating Minds & Hearts 2020. Over the past five years, faculty were trained on 21st century teaching techniques and technology. Little did they know, they’d be putting these skills to use daily this spring. The almost seamless transition from the physical to the virtual classroom is something we are proud of at ND. Support for our academic programs will allow us to always be as prepared as possible for what the future may hold.

If you have any questions about the online giving process, please contact Emily Brady, Director of Development at ebrady@notredamehs.com or 203.937.3268.

How the CARES Act Impacts Your Gift

  • If you do not itemize but make a cash gift to charity, you will be allowed to take a special tax deduction, up to $300 (per taxpayer unit), to reduce your tax liability.

  • An increase in the deduction limit up to 100% of a donor's annual income for cash gifts (previously the deduction was capped at 60% of annual income). If you make a gift you will be able to deduct more this year.

  • Gifts from previously established Donor-Advised Funds allow you to make a gift now without impacting your personal financial security.
