A global pandemic hasn’t stopped our Notre Dame Drama Club and their dedicated production team from staging another successful musical as a follow up to their award-winning March 2020 production of Newsies. With a wink and a nod to Lewis Carroll, the new kid in town discovers that Wonderland High is not your typical high school in this buoyant new musical being brought to a screen near you by the Notre Dame Drama Club. Filled with jokes, puns and portmanteau, Wonderland High celebrates the writing and wit of Lewis Carroll, as his characters are reimagined to be students in a contemporary high school, complete with social distancing and Covid masks! Under the direction of Ms. Rosemary O’Brien SHA ‘81, the Drama Club has held a hybrid blend of rehearsals in person and online to safely give our students the opportunity to work together to bring this delightful story to life. Following extensive Covid safety protocols, songs were all recorded individually by the students at home in a cloud based recording studio and then expertly edited together by Mrs. Christine Evans, Music Director and Chair of the Fine Arts Department. The Notre Dame Drama Club innovatively and cinematically filmed the production, with post production editing magic bringing in their pre-recorded vocal tracks. Choreographed by Lisa Menilli, this show is sure to delight audiences of all ages!
Wonderland High premieres at 7:30 pm on March 12th and will be available on-demand until April 12th.
