On May 1, 2019, Notre Dame launched its largest and most ambitious campaign in school history: Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation. This $10 million comprehensive campaign grew to $14.5 million when it was successfully concluded on March 7, 2024.
We  invited the entire Notre Dame community—alumni, parents, and friends—to join us with their support. We are thrilled to report that 2,925 donors made gifts to this campaign that will impact every student and faculty member by providing a beautifully renovated building and campus, and investing in programs that foster our Catholic Holy Cross mission.

Through this campaign:

  • we modernized our 76+ year-old building and campus

  • we invested in our talented faculty and dynamic academic, arts, and community service programs

  • we grew our endowment for scholarships and financial aid

  • we expanded our Legacy Society with planned estate gifts

Every gift has made a difference in the transformation of Notre Dame High School for our students today and for the next generation!

Building Improvements

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation targeted several areas of growth and expansion for Notre Dame’s building and campus: a centralized and welcoming student center; a completely renovated and expanded cafeteria; four new classrooms; a new campus ministry center; and renovated administrative office. In addition, the statue of Mary was relocated in front of the school next to the chapel, and connecting sidewalks, a landscaped terrace, and courtyard provide a welcoming feel to the campus.
These improvements have provided a contemporary space for teaching and learning and will enhance the Notre Dame experience for all students

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation received generous support for Notre Dame's dynamic academic programs and for faculty professional development. These funds provide continued growth of the school’s academic programs, building on our innovative signature programs, including Engineering, Sports, Exercise, and Health Science , and NDXL (ND’s Experiential Learning module.)
Especially notable is the funding for our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme whose third cohort of students will graduate this May.

SCHOLARSHIP & FINANCIAL AID

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation also provided much needed financial assistance to Notre Dame students and their families. More than 65% of our students receive financial aid. The Campaign provided increased endowment funding to ensure a Notre Dame education remains accessible for students in need. The Loyalty & Endowment Fund was established in 1982 and is $9 million strong. Each year it provides over 100 named scholarships to students.

Several donors also chose to include a gift to the Loyalty & Endowment Fund in their estate plans as part of Excellence Imagined.

INVESTING IN A GENERATION

“Notre Dame High School has transformed the lives of thousands of young men, including my own. We hope our gift will inspire other alumni to reflect on the opportunity they were afforded, and invite them to play a significant role in Notre Dame’s future for generations of students to come.”
–Steve Fogler '78

A $1,000,000 gift from Liz and Steve Fogler '78 launched Notre Dame’s Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation that will transform the school’s campus, providing innovative facilities and space for teaching and learning uniquely designed for educating young men. Hundreds of donors have already shown their support for the Campaign that has raised over $13 million since its inception in May of 2019.

Excellence imagined - phase 2!

Christmas came early for Notre Dame when Lynda and Gary Richetelli ‘65 and their grandsons Nicholas ‘19 and Jason ‘26 presented President  Robert Curis with a $1,010,000 gift to Excellence Imagined on December 21, 2022, the largest single gift to the school.

“I am confident that the Richetelli’s gift will be a catalyst to inspire others to invest in this pivotal transformation of our campus, our programs, and our current and future students. Our future is secure and exciting as we witness excellence imagined becoming excellence realized!”

- President Robert F. Curis

“My inspiration to make this gift was heightened when I visited the school several months ago and saw the plans for the future and what a huge transformation was about to take place!  These renovations will bring our school to a whole new level in academic excellence once completed to the likes of a mini ivy league campus!  I'm so proud and happy to be part of this generational transformation which is occurring!”
-G.M. Richetelli ‘65

For over 75 years Notre Dame has proudly educated the minds and hearts of young men in the Holy Cross Tradition. Through this historic campaign, we celebrate the impact our donors have had on the past, present, and the future.
