Rich Rose ’92
A standout in both football and track, Rich Rose was one of Notre Dame’s most accomplished student-athletes. A three-year starting cornerback and senior co-captain, he helped lead the Green Knights to an undefeated Class L State Championship and a No. 1 state ranking in 1991, earning All-Area honors. On the track, he was a State Open champion in the 55 meters and 100 meters, anchored a State Open championship 4x100 relay, and set a then-school record in the 55 meters.
Rich paired his athletic success with academic excellence, earning induction into both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society before continuing to Yale University. There, he earned eight varsity letters in football and track, was a four-year football letterwinner, Second Team All-Ivy, All-New England, and set Yale’s then-school record in the indoor 55 meters.
After graduating with a degree in Economics, Rich built a successful career in finance and Human Resources. A survivor of the September 11 attacks while working in the World Trade Center, he now serves as Director of Human Resources for GAMCO Investors, Inc., where he has continued to lead with resilience and excellence.
