Richard C. Meisenheimer ’72
Mr. Richard C. Meisenheimer exemplifies the spirit of service that Notre Dame High School instills in its graduates. After graduating from Notre Dame, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Southern Connecticut State University and began his professional career in 1976 with Spectrum Associates Inc., where he has served as President and CEO.
Richard’s commitment to community service spans healthcare, education, and civic leadership. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of Yale New Haven Health System and the Board of Trustees of Bridgeport Hospital. His extensive volunteer work includes past service with the Milford Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Milford, Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, and the Boy Scouts of America.
His dedication to public service includes ten years on the Orange Board of Education, serving three years as Chairman, plus service on Orange's Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance. As a Life-Member of the B.S.A. National Eagle Scout Association, he devoted over fifteen years
to youth development in various scouting leadership roles.
For many years Richard coached youth sports, including soccer, Little League, and basketball in Orange. He has served as a mentor through Bridges of Milford and spent five years each as a grade school catechism teacher and drama program assistant director.
His exceptional contributions have been recognized through the Southern Connecticut State University Outstanding Alumni Award (2004 and 2010), the Milford Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award (2005), and the Boy Scouts Good Scout Award (2005).
The Knights of Honor Award represents the culmination of a lifetime spent embodying the values of faith, service, and leadership that define the Notre Dame community. Through his professional success and unwavering support of Catholic education, Richard continues to honor his Notre Dame heritage while ensuring future generations benefit from the transformative educational experience that shaped his own path of service.
