Spring Sports Update
Our Green Knights had a strong spring season, with solid performances in League and State Championships, and a number of individual honors.
Our Lacrosse Team finished with a winning record of 10-6, and made it to the second round in both the SCC Playoffs as well as the State Tournament. Zach Goetze ‘25 was named to the All-SCC First Team, and Mitch Johnson ‘25, Dylan Bankowski ‘25, Brian Pluck ‘25, Matt Kelly ‘26 and Ethan Kelly ‘26 were all named to the All-SCC Second Team. Goetze, Pluck, Bankowksi, Johnson, and Ethan Kelly were also selected All-State.
Our Baseball Team also finished the season with a winning record, and made it to the second round in the State Tournament. Gehrig Footit ‘25 and Alex Riga ‘26 were both named to the All SCC First Team and All State. Brandon Skerritt ‘25 and Zack Lawruzsko ‘27 were named to the All-SCC Second Team. During the season, Coach Brian Hayden celebrated his 100th career win.
The Tennis Team demonstrated great spirit and collegiality throughout a challenging but rewarding season. Michael Lorenzetti ‘26 continues to dominate scholastic tennis play in Connecticut. He will be playing in the State Tournament on Wednesday, June 11, and was named to the All SCC First Team. He was also named the SCC Player of the Year.
Besides doing well in competition, the highlight of the Spring Crew season was the acquisition of a boat that is proudly identified as Notre Dame’s! Senior Crew Members David Alberino, Ryan Bereski, Roman Hescock, Sean Mismas, and Yahir Ramos were up early the morning after Graduation to participate in their Senior Morning at the Beacon Point Regatta where the new boat was unveiled!
The Golf Team shot a combined 318 in the SCC Tournament, which landed them sixth place. Gavin Luddy ‘25 and Brendan Rooney ‘26 both shot a 77 in the Tournament, and Brendan was named to the All -SCC Team.
