An Evening with Dr.Declan Hill

February 4, 2026
Reception and Q&A begins at at 6:30

Collins Auditorium at Notre Dame HIGH School

In advance of the Super Bowl, America's biggest sporting event, join us for an evening with Declan Hill, D.Phil, Associate Professor at the University of New Haven, who will present Organized Crime, Sports Gambling and the Real Story of the Shohei Ohtani Scandal.

Dr. Declan Hill is an Associate Professor in the Division of Government and Public Service at the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, University of New Haven. A journalist, academic, and consultant, he is recognized internationally as one of the leading experts on match-fixing and corruption in global sports.

Dr. Hill earned his doctorate in Sociology from the University of Oxford as a Chevening Scholar. He is the author of The Fix: Organized Crime and Soccer and The Insider’s Guide to Match-Fixing in Football, groundbreaking works that have shaped international understanding of sports integrity. His research has been published in leading academic journals and has informed organizations such as Interpol and SportAccord.

As we welcome Dr. Hill to share his groundbreaking work, we also celebrate the way Notre Dame alumni continue to shape conversations that matter in our world. This event is more than a lecture — it’s a chance for our alumni community to gather, engage with important issues, and be reminded of the impact a Notre Dame education can have far beyond our campus. We invite you to join us for an evening of insight, connection, and Notre Dame pride.
