Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we look at frigid temperatures and snow forecasts, it’s hard to imagine that the warm, sunny days of Spring will be here any time soon, but Graduation and Prom are just around the corner.
In a year that has already been significantly reimagined, we will of course reimagine what Prom and Graduation look like. This communication is to let our senior parents know that we are currently working on developing a “best practice for having prom in a pandemic” playbook and it is our hope and goal to give our seniors a safe and fun evening this spring. Senior Prom is being planned for April 23rd in the gardens at Anthony’s Oceanview. Governor Lamont’s recent press conference with its projected goal of increasing outdoor event capacities beginning in March has us hopeful that we will be able to have this event this Spring, but of course we all need to understand that things could change at any point and forces beyond our control may lead to a cancelation of the event. It is, unfortunately, the nature of the beast of planning any event right now. But, we are hopeful and optimistic as we begin to plan! Details and invitation to follow.
As a reminder, Graduation Mass and Dinner are currently scheduled for Thursday, May 20th for the graduate and his parents. The Graduation Mass location is still to be determined, but the Dinner will be held at Aria in Prospect. We will continue to monitor the Governor’s guidance and executive orders and are hopeful we will be able to plan a safe and appropriate evening to celebrate our graduates. These events will be strictly limited to the graduate and two guests.
We are currently planning to utilize both Marcucci Field and Alumni Hall for the Graduation ceremony this year. Graduation will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 22nd at Notre Dame, with a rain date of Sunday, May 23rd. We will continue to monitor the Governor’s guidance and executive orders to plan a safe and appropriate celebration for our Class of 2021. Further detailed communications regarding the Graduation weekend festivities, including information regarding guests, will be shared as soon as we have details finalized.
