Excellence Imagined

Over 78 Years in the Holy Cross Tradition…and Thriving!

The Board of Directors, with the endorsement of the Brothers of Holy Cross, approved Notre Dame’s most ambitious capital campaign in its history—Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation. In May 2019, we launched the “quiet phase” of this $10 million comprehensive campaign whose goal has grown to $14 million due to inflation and other world events.  The success of this campaign will impact every student and faculty member as we renovate our facilities and invest in programs that foster our Catholic Holy Cross mission:

  • Modernize our 75+ year-old building

  • Invest in our faculty and 21st-century academic, arts, and community service programs

  • Grow our endowment for scholarships and financial aid

We are pleased to present Excellence Imagined and invite the entire Notre Dame community—alumni, parents, and friends—to join us with their support. Every gift to this campaign makes a difference and will transform Notre Dame High School for the next generation of ND men!

We hope that you will join us and learn more about how you can invest in Excellence Imagined

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation targets several areas of growth and expansion for Notre Dame. A centralized and welcoming student center, a completely renovated and expanded cafeteria, three new classrooms, a faculty collaboration center, and a center for innovation and design, along with modernization and upgrades to the school’s exterior, will provide a contemporary space for teaching young men and enhance the Notre Dame experience for all students

Donors who invest significantly will be recognized throughout the building for their generosity. A complete list of available naming opportunities is available by contacting the Development Office.

The construction will be completed in phases. The groundbreaking for Phase 1 occurred in November 2022!

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation has received generous support from donors for Notre Dame's academic programs and for faculty professional development. These funds provide continued growth of the school’s academic programs, building on the nine innovative signature programs, including Engineering, Sports, Excercise, and Health Science , and NDXL (ND’s Experiential Learning module.) Especially notable is the funding for our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme whose first cohort of students started in 2021.

SCHOLARSHIP & FINANCIAL AID

Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation is also providing much needed financial assistance to Notre Dame students and their families. More than 65% of our students receive financial aid. The Campaign will provide increased endowment funding to ensure a Notre Dame education remains accessible for students in need. The Loyalty & Endowment Fund was established in 1982 and is over $9 million strong. Each year it provides over 100 named scholarships to students.

Many donors also choose to include a gift to the Loyalty & Endowment Fund in their estate planning.

INVESTING IN A GENERATION

“Notre Dame High School has transformed the lives of thousands of young men, including my own. We hope our gift will inspire other alumni to reflect on the opportunity they were afforded, and invite them to play a significant role in Notre Dame’s future for generations of students to come.”
–Steve Fogler '78

A $1,000,000 gift from Liz and Steve Fogler '78 launched Notre Dame’s Excellence Imagined: Our Campaign for the Next Generation that will transform the school’s campus, providing innovative facilities and space for teaching and learning uniquely designed for educating young men. Hundreds of donors have already shown their support for the Campaign that has raised over $13 million since its inception in May of 2019.

Excellence imagined is ready for phase 2!

Christmas came early for Notre Dame when Lynda and Gary Richetelli ‘65 and their grandsons Nicholas ‘19 and Jason ‘26 presented President  Robert Curis with a $1,010,000 gift to Excellence Imagined on December 21, 2022, the largest single gift to the school.

“I am confident that the Richetelli’s gift will be a catalyst to inspire others to invest in this pivotal transformation of our campus, our programs, and our current and future students. Our future is secure and exciting as we witness excellence imagined becoming excellence realized!”

- President Robert F. Curis

“My inspiration to make this gift was heightened when I visited the school several months ago and saw the plans for the future and what a huge transformation was about to take place!  These renovations will bring our school to a whole new level in academic excellence once completed to the likes of a mini ivy league campus!  I'm so proud and happy to be part of this generational transformation which is occurring!”
-G.M. Richetelli ‘65

For over 75 years Notre Dame has proudly educated the minds and hearts of young men in the Holy Cross Tradition. Through this historic campaign, we celebrate the impact our donors have had on the past, present, and the future.
