Loyalty & Endowment
When established in 1983, the sole purpose of the endowment was to secure the future Notre Dame. It was created to provide financial assistance to deserving students for generations. In 2006, its purpose was expanded to include gifts for general education purposes as well. Over the years, the endowment has grown through the extreme generosity of the Notre Dame Community.
In 1995, the Loyalty and Endowment Fund stood at nearly $500,000. Today, its worth has risen to over $7 million - a true indication of how those closest to Notre Dame see the importance of investing in its vitality and future. Each year about 5% of the fund is used to support scholarships for both financial assistance and merit aid to our students. Additionally a small amount is used to support special projects to enhance our programs or facilities.
Named Scholarships and Awards
Endowed scholarships and awards strengthen our school by attracting and retaining the most promising students without regard for their ability to pay the full tuition.
Notre Dame encourages donors to establish endowed scholarships and awards. The beauty of such gifts is that they grow over time and serve their intended purpose in perpetuity. At Notre Dame, naming opportunities are available at the following levels:
• Fully Endowed Scholarship: $400,000+
• Partially Endowed Scholarship: $200,000
• Named Scholarship: $50,000
All named scholarships and awards may be established with an outright gift or a pledge over a specific period of time. For additional information about establishing a fund, please contact a member of the Advancement Team.
