Congratulations to This Year's Knights of Honor

On November 5, 2025, the Notre Dame community will gather to celebrate the achievements of the 2025 Knights of Honor Inductees. 

Jack F. Callahan Jr. ‘76

Jack F. Callahan Jr. serves as Yale University’s inaugural Senior Vice President for Operations and Chief Operating Officer. A Yale alumnus and Dartmouth Tuck Scholar, Jack built an exceptional corporate career, holding positions at McKinsey and Company, General Electric, and PepsiCo. He served as Executive Vice President and CFO of S&P Global from 2010 to 2016. At S&P Global, he led a remarkable transformation and was named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Finance” in 2012. Jack has been a devoted member of the Notre Dame Board of Directors and the Finance Committee, bringing his extensive financial expertise and strategic vision to support our mission and growth. His philanthropic leadership exemplifies his deep belief in Catholic education and dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders in his local community.

David Garamella ‘88, P ‘24, ‘25

David Garamella is a nationally recognized leader in philanthropy, organizational strategy, and nonprofit transformation. As Founder and CEO of The Giving Collaborative, he has guided over 150 nonprofit organizations to more than $5 billion in philanthropic commitments. David’s professional accomplishments include serving as Chief Philanthropy Officer for Lifespan-Rhode Island Hospital and Executive Director of the Griffin Hospital Development Fund. He currently serves as Board Chair Emeritus at Notre Dame, capping nearly two decades of service to Notre Dame’s Board, and sits on the New England Association of Healthcare Philanthropy Board. The Garamella tradition continued at Notre Dame, with David’s son Davin graduating in 2024 and his son Dawson graduating in 2025.

Richard C. Meisenheimer ‘72

Richard C. Meisenheimer exemplifies the spirit of service that Notre Dame instills in its graduates. After graduating from Notre Dame, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Southern Connecticut State University. In 1976 he began his career at Spectrum Associates, Inc., where he serves as President and CEO. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Richard has been dedicated to community service. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of Yale New Haven Health System and the Board of Trustees of Bridgeport Hospital. He has also been a member of the Orange Board of Education, Board of Selectmen, and Board of Finance, and for many years mentored young people through the Boy Scouts of America. In 2004 and 2010 he was recognized by Southern Connecticut State University with the Outstanding Alumni Award. In addition, in 2005 he received the Milford Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award and the Boy Scouts Good Scout Award.

Eduardo Palmieri ‘81 and Deborah Smith-Palmieri Family, P’12,12,14,15,20

Eduardo and Deborah Palmieri have been passionately involved with Notre Dame since 2008, when their first two sons, Michael and William ‘12, entered as freshmen. They were followed by Joseph ‘14, Eduardo ‘15, and Byron ‘20. For twelve consecutive years, at least one Palmieri was enrolled at Notre Dame! The Palmieris have served as dedicated parent ambassadors and boosters for football and soccer. Alongside Bill Dooley ‘73, they played an integral role in transforming Notre Dame’s lacrosse program from a “start-up” to one of Connecticut’s most successful programs. Debbie’s involvement continues as a member of Notre Dame’s Board of Directors and current Vice-Chair. 

After graduating from Boston College, Ed began a distinguished career with the Connecticut Judicial Branch, rising from Adult Probation Officer to Agency Director. He has also served on various boards and commissions, including the New Haven Boys and Girls Club. Debbie graduated from Southern Connecticut State University and began her career as a Bail Commissioner, where she met Ed. She spent 29 years with the US Probation Office, retiring as a Supervising Probation Officer in 2017. She served 15 years on the New England Association of Drug Court Professionals Board, and was appointed by Governor Lamont to the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles in 2019. A longtime volunteer, she helps in the food pantry of FISH of Greater New Haven.

Jason Shea ‘97, P’28

Jason Shea has been a cornerstone of the Notre Dame High School community since 2003. After his graduation from ND, Jason attended Connecticut College, where he majored in history and played on the varsity basketball team, which reached the NCAA Division III Final Four with a Number 1 national ranking. Jason was recruited back to Notre Dame by Athletic Director Joe Tonelli and Coach Gary Palladino. In his twenty years at ND, Jason has taught, served as department chair, and coached all levels of basketball. Since the 2013-2014 season, Jason has built one of the most successful basketball programs in the region, with a cumulative record of 238 - 51, four consecutive SCC Championships, back-to-back Division I State Championships, and a national ranking of 65 last season. As Athletic Director, he has transformed Notre Dame’s athletic department, and has worked tirelessly to provide athletic opportunities for our first female students.
